The Glasgow woman who became a viral sensation after being filmed trying to help a dying pigeon in Sauchiehall Street has spoken out to defend her actions.
Lehar Laghmani, a DJ and radio presenter on Awaz FM 107.2, was filmed by a passer-by outside M&S on Tuesday giving the unconscious bird mouth-to-mouth and pressing down on its chest.

The video, so far, has received over 30,000 reactions on Twitter, with many comments having irked the presenter.
Lehar told the Evening Times the bird was not dead but was, in fact, breathing when she began compressions.
She explained: “If any damn animal needs my help, then I’m going to give my help.

“I support five different charities - many animal ones - and refuse to see an animal in need not have help.
“I’ve even been invited by the Queen to Buckingham Palace for my charitable efforts, so I’ve not been too happy with the reaction to the video.”
Lehar has said she will be addressing the issue tonight in her two-hour drivetime show on Awaz FM 107.2 from 4pm to 6pm and is urging listeners to tune in to further hear her side of the story.
