Morrisons have been forced to recall green beans across the UK after a Glasgow woman discovered NEEDLES hidden 'deliberately' inside her vegetables.

Margaret Lynch, 49, found 12 metal spikes inside her beans as she made her dinner on Saturday night.

She told MailOnline: "I've had bugs in salad and that's more acceptable because it's natural, but I won't be buying green beans again.

"I'll be more careful with buying vegetables in the future.

"If I hadn't seen them when I was cutting of the ends, I could have injured my mouth - it's easily done."

A Morrisons spokeperson said: "As a precautionary measure we are recalling this product as there is a very small risk that some packs may contain pieces of metal.

"We are asking all customers who may have bought the green beans to return them to their nearest Morrisons store where they will receive a full refund.

"We apologise for the inconvenience this may cause and we assure customers of our continuing commitment to the highest standard of product quality and safety."
