The official Glasgow opening date of cult beauty brand Kat Von D has finally been announced, much to makeup lovers’ delight.
The Evening Times had reported last month on how the much sought-after range - created by tattooist-turned-makeup artist Kat - was set to open as a concession in Debenhams at Silverburn shopping centre.
The centre has today confirmed it will open on Friday, May 5.
Since the brand’s inception in 2008, Kat Von D Beauty has defied expectation, said the shopping centre.
The mall added: “From celebrated artist, musician and tattoo artist to global beauty phenomenon, Kat has created an iconic, high-performance, cruelty-free, brand that is vegan - wherever possible - and specialises in longwear, high-pigment, full-coverage products.
“Respected for its creator’s artistry, intuition and authenticity, Kat Von D Beauty is an evocative and unexpected make-up brand that celebrates individuality and self-expression.
“One of the fastest-growing beauty brands worldwide, Kat Von D Beauty is establishing cult status; Kat is a social media powerhouse driving a global beauty community that is one of the most connected, creative and vocal.”
Glasgow has welcomed a range of iconic makeup brands to its streets, with Kiko Milano and Charlotte Tilbury arriving last year.
David Pierotti, Silverburn’s general manager, previously said: “These recent signings reflect the increasing attraction for high-end brands to Silverburn.
“Our combination of premium surroundings, strong mix of high street and designer stores, and stylish selection of restaurants - all located under one roof - ensures we remain Glasgow’s leading destination for all things lifestyle.”
