Celtic has paid a fitting tribute to ex-Rangers defender Ugo Ehiogu who has died aged 44 as both Hoops and Gers fans continue to come together and remember the footballer.
The Hoops club tweeted an image of Ehiogu in his Gers glory days.
The team said: “The thoughts & prayers of everyone at Celtic are with the family & friends of former Rangers defender, Ugo Ehiogu, following his sad passing.”

Fans, both green and blue, have put aside their differences today to post their own emotional messages of support.
“Great to see both sides old firm come together to pay respects. Don’t agree on much but we pay respect to past players gone,” said user Chris McLaughlin.
Another, Greig O’H, added: “I would like to think that there is far more in this world which unites rather than divide us.”

Other messages included: “football divides us, life & death unites us,” and: “Classy tweet. As it should be. And the responses from Celtic fans are also spot on. Sport is great #RIPUgo.”
“Scored one of the great goals for Rangers to sink us, never forget it. Rip,” said another Celtic fan.
Rangers Football Club said it was “shocked and saddened” by his passing.
The club said in a statement: “He joined the Light Blues when Walter Smith returned as manager in 2007 and made a huge impact in his short time in Glasgow - notably his winning goal at Celtic Park in the derby.

“Everyone associated with the club sends their sincere condolences to Ugo’s family and friends at this difficult time.”
Ehiogu died after collapsing at Tottenham’s training centre on Thursday after suffering a cardiac arrest.
Ehiogu, who scored the winning goal – his first for the Ibrox club – in a 1-0 defeat of Celtic in 2007, had been overseeing the club’s under-23s.

Just three weeks ago, in his final tweet, Ehiogu told his almost 13,000 followers: “Gave a homeless girl £10 last night in Dalston. She didn’t ask or beg.Random impulsive act from me. Not gona lie. Felt good. #dosomethingkind.”
Social media users have now started to retweet the message in memory of the player.
