People across the country are that fed up with current events - including Brexit, a possible second Scottish independence referendum, and the upcoming general election - that two major UK companies have decided to tackle the issue.

Twinings Infusions and the Pantone Color Institute have teamed up to develop a new shade of blue, proven to make you feel better. Yes, you read that right.

The move has come after research revealed that, following recent worldwide events, levels of optimism across the nation have taken a significant dip.

As a result, almost 13 million Brits were found to be feeling less optimistic in their day-to-day lives, with a staggering 65 per cent blaming their feelings on the news.

Glasgow Times:
Feeling happier?

Therefore, the team created the colour ‘Natural Optimism’ which is said to be reminiscent of blue skies on a bright day - a sight Brits say makes them feel the most optimistic.

Vicky Keenan, head of brand at Twinings Infusions, explained how, when you feel optimistic, the feeling is “utterly contagious.”

She added: “Optimism has a knock-on effect and, when life feels brighter, we’re more likely to make positive choices that make us feel good.”

To encourage Brits to go out and look for ‘Natural Optimism’ and enjoy all nature has to offer, Twinings Infusions will be giving away packs of fruit tea to 100 people who find the colour and snap a picture of it.
