A RUTHERGLEN man who was caught behind the wheel driving when he was more than seven times over the drink drive limit has been tagged.
Jamie McNamee, 37, appeared in the dock at Glasgow Sheriff Court after pleading guilty to driving while under the influence of alcohol.
His court papers stated that he had 161 micrograms of alcohol per 100ml of breath while driving on Andrew Sillars Avenue, Cambuslang on September 25 last year. In Scotland, the limit is 22 micrograms of alcohol per 100ml of breath.
Sheriff Ian Fleming described the reading as “very high” and ordered McNamee to be placed under supervision for 12 months.
As part of his supervision, McNamee, of Lochbrae Drive, was told that he must attend a programme for road traffic offences. He was tagged for 135 days as an alternative to custody.
