A MAN has been arrested in connection with the attempted murder of Ross Monaghan outside a Glasgow school.

Police Scotland confirmed that a 36-year-old man has been arrested and detained in custody.

Shots were fired at Monaghan, 35, outside St George's Primary School in Penilee on Monday, January 16.

He had just dropped his daughter off at the school when the incident happened.

Police then launched an attempted murder investigation, and carried out a stop and interview operation in a bid to catch the gunman.

Independent charity Crimestoppers also made a £5,000 available for information on the murder bid.

Police Scotland said a report has been sent to the Procurator Fiscal and the man is expected to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court tomorrow.
