A MAN who bit a police officer and threatened others has narrowly avoided jail.
Jordan McSorley, of Braeside place in Cambuslang, shouted at officers after they approached him on Aikenhead Road in February 2016.
The 20-year-old appeared in court after pleading guilty to two charges, and was sentenced before Sheriff Linda Ruxton.
The court heard that McSorley had put his middle finger up at police officers, who were passing on duty, and shouted “Is it cos I’m a P**i?” when they detained him.
He also shouted “f**k off”, headbutted officers in the police car and bit one of them on the way to the station.
Sheriff Ruxton said the actions were “disgraceful” and gave him a six month community payback order, as well as an order to stay home in the evenings for four months.
