A WEST End eatery has announced it will close its doors this week.

The Mad Platter told customers that Saturday will be the last day of trading.

The bistro in the city's Great Western Road is famed for their Stornoway Eggs Benedict.

A statement released by The Mad Platter said: "We are sad to announce that this is the last week that The Mad Platter will be trading.

"We would like to thank you all for the regular joy and love you have given us for the past three years.

"Our last day will be Saturday - we will be closing at five o'clock.

"If you'd like to come see us before then we would love to say our goodbyes, we have many quirky trinkets to go to a loving home - come see what we have."

Customers took to the social media website Facebook after hearing about the closure.

John Watson said: "An excellent concept - and so very well put together with great cuisine. Where will I go for for the infamous Stornoway Eggs Benedict?"

Lorna McCole added: "This was my favourite place to eat by far in all of Glasgow. Sad to hear this."
