A BOLD thief bolted out of a pawnbrokers with a haul of jewellery in broad daylight in a busy shopping centre.

The conman asked to look at the items in Ramsden's store in Clydebank Shopping Centre before he made off at around 11.30am on Tuesday. 

Police say he left the shopping centre, into the car park and headed off in the direction of Argyll Road.


The suspect is described as white, aged in his late 20s to early 30s, with a medium build and short dark hair.  He was wearing dark coloured clothing and spoke with a local accent. 

Officers are reviewing CCTV images from the shopping centre for additional information.

Detective Constable Anthony Adams said: “The centre would have been busy with shoppers at the time of the incident and many will have seen the man run through the shopping precinct.  I am appealing to anyone who was within Clydebank Shopping Centre on Tuesday to contact us with any information which could assist our investigation in trying to locate this man.”
