A MAN lashed out at police after being wrongly confronted about having a knife.
Nicholas Burnett was on a train at Queen Street on March 27 this year when fellow passengers thought he was carrying a weapon.
The Stirling man had been helping a friend with home improvements and had been carrying a bag of tools with him.
The concerned passengers alerted the conductor about what they believed was a “large knife” and the Transport Police were called.
Officers boarded the train in a “pincer” movement, according to Burnett’s solicitor, at which point he was told to show his hands.
He failed to do so and was removed from the train, but began flailing his arms and legs and swearing.
Sheriff Lindsay Wood sentenced him to a 12 month community payback order and a three month restriction order.
