An investigation is underway after a car burst into fire outside a busy Glasgow nightclub.

Firefighters were called to Sanctuary nightclub on Dumbarton Road last night at about 23:40.

Pictures show the car engulfed in flames near the entrace to the club which it understood to have been open at the time.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: "Police and the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service attended and the fire was extinguished.

"No persons were injured. Inquires are continuing."
