People took to twitter yesterday to commend jokers who put Johnstone High School on Gumtree for a fiver.

The advert was posted on the classifieds website under the title 'Large Detatched House'.

Under a photo of the school, an amusing description boasted the 'mansion's' wide range of amenities.

The ad said: "For sale is a large detached mansion situated on the Beith Road in Johnstone.

“Constructed in 1965, the house sits amongst generously sized gardens complete with an AstroTurf football pitch and pool. The property has a long driveway and adequate off street parking.”

“The house has more than 100 bedrooms, several kitchens, dining hall, his and hers bathrooms, library and a grand hall.

“Local amenities include Orlando's fish restaurant and Emzed's grocers. Transport links are excellent with daily buses to and from Howwood, Lochwinnoch and Kilbarchan.”

The ad finished by telling any interested buyers to phone the number provided and "ask for Graham or Lynne".

Praising the pranksters on Twitter, one user said, “Whoever put Johnstone High on Gumtree really thought about the description.”

The ad has since been removed from Gumtree.
