A FEMALE engineering student who was only woman to gain a place in a UK competition is now in the running for an international award.
Betsy Crosbie, 20, from East Kilbride, has gained a place in Team UK for WorldSkills in Abu Dhabi 2017, which is taking place in October.
Betsy will face mechanical engineering students and apprentices from all over the world.
Barry Skea, Head of Faculty for Engineering and Automotive at New College Lanarkshire said: “Betsy is an inspiration to all students in Scotland and the UK, particularly females looking to pursue a career in STEM subjects.”
