A BODY found near an Erskine high school is that of a 16-year-old boy.
Police have named the teenager as Owen MacDonald and have been in contact with relatives.
Officers confirmed a post mortem has been carried out and the death of the teenager is being treated as unexplained.
The discovery on Rashielee Avenue was made by three men walking to a petrol station in the early hours of Sunday morning.
A cordon had been set up around the area close to Park Mains High School, and police were on site investigating for several hours yesterday.
A police spokeswoman said: "At around 5.30am on Sunday, April 30 the body of a male was discovered in Erskine.
"Police Scotland can confirm the male has been identified as 16-year-old Owen MacDonald.
"Relatives are aware."
