FUNNYMAN Ricky Gervais is on his way to the city - and he looks almost as excited as his fans are.

The comedian is set to play to a packed crowd in Glasgow today and tomorrow for his Humanity stand up tour - and the city has become infected with Gervais fever.

Even Glasgow Queen Street station is brightening up passengers’ days with themed messages flashing on announcement boards.

It reads "Ricky Gervais tonight at the SEC Armadillo.

"Buy your tickets before you board at the office.  "Don't be an idiot abroad, stay safe in the station.

"Life's too short, enjoy your night."

Gervais shot to fame with his BBC television series The Office in 2001 which was followed by Extras in 2005.

In addition to writing and directing the shows, he played the lead roles of David Brent in The Office and Andy Millman in Extras.

The funnyman also reprised his role as Brent in the comedy film Life on the Road.

Fans have been showing their excitement for his arrival on social media.

The Office is the most successful British comedy of all time, shown in more than 90 countries with seven remakes.
