NOW that it is officially taps-aff weather, parched Weegies will be in search of ways to cool off.

And thirsty Glaswegians' prayers have been answered thanks to a city centre bar - which is offering Buckfast slushies.

Driftwood is selling the frosty tonic wine from today, costing £3 a glass.

The bar is known for its interesting alcoholic offerings, after recently launching Disney and Harry Potter themed cocktails.

The Buckfast slushie comes just in time for World Buckfast Day 2017 which takes place on Saturday, May 13.

The tonic wine has been given it's own celebration this year following on from the popularity of previous events.

An event to celebrate the date has been launched on Facebook, with over 2,000 confirmed as attending.

Last year, the first national event was recognised by more than 25,000 people.

According to the event, the day can be enjoyed at home, with friends and out and about, as long as you enjoy your Bucky safely.
