A WOMAN who engaged in sending graphic sexual messages over social media was spared jail at Glasgow Sheriff Court.

Sandra Fraser admitted portraying detailed sexual messages to men the sentencing sheriff said the facts would be difficult to forget.

Sheriff Aisha Anwar said sending the 43-year-old to prison was well within the public’s interest but, due to her circumstances, she placed significant levels of supervision and restrictions on Fraser.

The court heard that Fraser, of Queens Drive, sent messages to men over social media which involved asking one man to perform sexual acts on a child.

Fraser admitted that on December 27 2015 at Queens Drive she sent social media messages to a man that were grossly offensive or of an indecent, obscene or menacing character where she engaged in sexually explicit communications detailing child sex abuse and bestiality.

She also admitted that between November 24 2015 and January 10 2016 at Queens Drive she sent messages through the same medium to another man that were grossly offensive or of an indecent, obscene or menacing character by engaging in sexually explicit communications detailing child sex abuse and bestiality.

Fraser’s defending solicitor said that the accused took full responsibility for her actions.

The representing solicitor also said: “She would never hurt or harm a child.”

The solicitor added that Fraser seemed to enjoy the power she had over the men.

Sheriff Anwar said: “The charges are deeply disturbing and they are alarming and I won’t be forgetting this case in a hurry. To one man you asked him to perform sexual acts.. You appear on the one hand to be responsible for your actions and on the other no remorse at all."

Fraser was placed under supervision for three years and sentenced to carry out 270 hours of unpaid work. Amongst the restrictions she was banned from using social media and prohibited from interfering or deleting her internet search history. A review will be held on Fraser’s conduct August 4.
