FAMOUS Canadian coffee chain Tim Hortons opens its first UK branch in Glasgow next Friday.

The Argyle Street store will open at 9am in central Glasgow on Friday 2 June.

Crowds are expected to gather, hoping to be among the first people to taste Tim Hortons famous coffee and Timbits, the signature bite-sized doughnut.

Guests will be greeted by two Canadian “Mounties” and a number of exciting prizes will be up for grabs, including the chance to win a trip for two to Canada.

The first 100 Guests will be offered a free breakfast, the first 10 will also receive 50 free Timbits every month, for one year.

The first Guest will also get free coffee for a full year with their very own bespoke Tims card.

Gurprit Dhaliwal, COO of Tim Hortons said: “We’re really excited to open our first Restaurant in Britain and the buzz we’ve been seeing has been unbelievable.

"With its burgeoning café culture, Glasgow is the ideal spot for our first location and we think Glaswegians will love our great coffee and delicious, freshly made food.

The Argyle Street location will be the first to open in Britain, before Tim Hortons takes its famous coffee, delicious baked goods and Canadian charm nationwide over the next 12 months.
