GLASGOW ravers have been warned to turn up at a music event in plenty of time this weekend - due to tough security checks after the Manchester terrorist attack.

Electric Frog and Pressure Riverside Festival takes place this Saturday and Sunday at the Riverside Museum.

Artists including Sven Vath, Derrick Carter and Jackmaster are performing at the two-day event which attracts hundreds of revellers every year.

The promoters say that they will be employing a 'rigorous search policy' at the venue and advised that they have also upped their security.

A statement said: "In light of the tragic incident in Manchester, we will have increased security in place this weekend at Electric Frog and Pressure Riverside Festival 2017.

"Please anticipate a more rigorous search policy and a longer processing time as you enter the event.

"We stand shoulder to shoulder with the people of Manchester at this extremely sad time - a people with a similar love of music to those of Glasgow

"Please arrive early, we open at 1pm, Bring as little as possible with you - everything you need is within the festival site. Stay safe and look after each other."
