Kris Commons’ other half has given football fans some hope that her fiancé may play in Scotland next season.

Lisa Hague took to Twitter after Parkhead bid an emotional farewell to the legend that is Commons on Sunday.

Taking to Twitter, she told her 22,200 followers: “As a family we have decided to stay in Glasgow, decided that long ago actually.

“This is home to us.

“Here’s to staying in Scotland.”

Twitter users were quick to welcome both with open arms as speculation mounted over his next move.

The playmaker was given a rousing reception when he took a final bow at Celtic Park at the weekend after watching Brendan Rodgers’ side finish the season as Invincibles.

Commons will leave the club after six years at Celtic. However, he has maintained he will be a Hoops fan for life.

He said: “In the last 12 months, I’ve been a Celtic fan and they’ve been an absolute joy to watch.

“I wish them all the world in the future. It was a very emotional day for me but I think what’s happening right now at Celtic, it’s never been better to be a part of it.

“It’s been frustrating and, if I had been fit enough, I would hope to have played some more football but the truth is I’ve had four back injections and that’s been a sticking point that I’ve actually not been fit enough to actually play.

“I’ve thoroughly enjoyed these last six years, it’s been absolutely beyond my wildest dreams, the emotions we’ve played through, the games we’ve played in and a massive thanks to everyone that welcomed me from day one and gave me the opportunity to play some sort of role.”
