A man told a cellmate he was going to put a dagger in his neck after he was arrested in Glasgow.

John Fraser was found by officers shouting and swearing on Broomhill Lane in Glasgow at 12.50am in Novemer, last year.

The 30-year-old then aimed abuse at the officers which resulted in Fraser being taken to Helen Street Police Office where he was put in the cells.

It was then, after claiming another man in the cell talked about Fraser's cousin, he said: "I'm going to put a dagger in your throat - I will be up for attempted murder. I'll give you more holes than a sieve."

He also said: "Your mum is going to need finger prints to identify you."

The accused's defending solicitor said Fraser of Wheatley Road, Stevenson, reacted to the man after he had talked about his cousin in a threatening manner.

The solicitor added his client was under the influence of alcohol at the time and was being protective of his relation.

Fraser admitted that on November 26, last year, at Broomhill Lane and Helen Street Police Office he behaved in a threatening and abusive manner by shouting, swearing and uttering abusive remarks and threats of violence.

The sentencing sheriff said Fraser's behaviour complicated police procedure and tagged him for four months.
