On a sunny Friday evening, Pam Duncan-Glancy is leading her campaign team on the doorsteps.

She said this is the third session of the day in Glasgow North, which has been the case every day during the campaign.

The biggest issue she says she is getting back from the voters is the possibility of a second referendum.

She said: “People don’t want another referendum.”

She also said that some people who voted SNP two years ago are not satisfied with the level of progress.

Ms Duncan-Glancy, said: “Some people think the SNP have wasted the opportunity to do something but have campaigned instead for independence. People are sick of it.”

Her driving motivation is equality and human rights issues.

A first-time candidate she is no stranger to a political campaign though and says she is in this one to win.

She said: “I’ve campaigned for a lot of reasons. I’m not someone starts a fight but doesn’t intent to win. I appreciate the scale of the challenge.”

She said that support is increasing as the campaign develops.

In Kelvindale, Ms Duncan-Glancy is going around the streets in her wheelchair. It limits the number of properties she which she can access the front door.

Those she does get to speak to are giving her a good reception, some undecided but willing to consider Labour and others a definite yes.

She asks if people have seen the manifesto which she says is what has increased support.

Ms Duncan-Glancy said: “In a matter of days since the manifesto we were getting solid support.”

It is a manifesto she is more than comfortable campaigning on and picking out her highlights with the £10 a hour living wage high on her list.

She agrees with one resident who said it was ‘the best she had ever seen from labour ’.
