Jeremy Corbyn has ruled out doing any deals or forming an alliance with the SNP.
The Labour leader said he is looking to win and will not be seking any pact with the SNP if Labour is the largest party at Westminster but falls short of a majority.
He spoke after Nicola Sturgeon said in a TV interview that the SNP would take part in a progressive alliance if there is a hung parliament.
She said: “We’ll work for progressive policies and we’ll work for the policies we put forward in our Manifesto. If there was to be a hung parliament of course we would look to be part of a progressive alliance that pursued progressive policies.”
However she also said she did not think Mr Corbyn was “credible” as an alternative Prime Minister.
Mr Corbyn said the election was between Labour and the Tories.
He said: “There will be no deals. There will be no alliance. We’re fighting this election to win.
“Only Labour or the Tories can win this election and voting Labour is the only way to remove Theresa May from office and build a Scotland for the many not the few."
