US popstar Anastacia proved she’s a Glasgow girl at heart after partaking in some local dialect lessons and donning the Lion Rampant of Scotland on stage.
The I’m Outta Love hitmaker looked to be in her element as she brought her Ultimate Collection Tour to Glasgow’s Royal Concert Hall on Tuesday night.
The best moment came when an elderly lady in one of the front rows, who revealed herself to be Doreen, shouted: “Yer a wee stoater*.”
Such a fun night @GCHalls in Glasgow where @AnastaciaMusic was welcomed by a great Scottish crowd & this hilarious moment too with Doreen pic.twitter.com/G8s8BhqDzx

“You’re my stalker?,” joked Anastasia, as she jumped from the stage and ran to cuddle Doreen, much to the delight of the audience.
The 48-year-old singer-songwriter from Chicago also revealed how she thought the name of Scotland’s biggest (and best) city was pronounced “Glasgoo.”
She had the audience in fits of laughter when she pronounced it correctly, accent and all.

Doreen also presented the singer with the Lion Rampant of Scotland banner which Anastacia tied around her waist.
A 72-year-old man named George also got the seal of approval from the global superstar after he rushed down to the bottom of the stage for a dance.

“Superstar ‘George’ so famous he needs only one name. Stole my heart all night,” she added on Twitter.
It definitely sounded like a night the singer won’t forget in a hurry.
She added after the show: “It’s hard to not love y’all seriously. You were s incredible audience [sic].
Bless you. It's hard to not love y'all seriously https://t.co/LrIDakPRxF

“Glasgows front few rows weren’t holding back for sure.”
Let’s see if Edinburgh can be just as memorable tonight as Anastacia heads through to the Usher Hall.
*Side note for our non-Glaswegian readers: “stoater” is Glasgow dialect for someone who is “fantastic.”
