THE SNP has been defeated by Labour, The Tories and Greens in an election for top posts on Transport body SPT.
The party failed to get any of its nominations selected after other parties backed each other’s nominations.
The SNP at Glasgow City Council has said it was looking at taking the Subway from SPT and it has been feared the overall body could be disbanded.
The SNP now faces difficulty getting key transport policies through SPT with the three senior posts held by the Greens Labour and the Tories.
Martin Bartos of the Greens was elected Chair ahead of the SNP’s Malcolm Balfour.
Labour and the Tories got the positions of the two vice chairs.
It comes after the SNP was defeated in the election for deputy Lord Provost in Glasgow as Labour, Tories and Greens backed the Labour candidate Phil Braaat.
It was also defeated in a bid to have a majority of the Executive Committee.
