GLASWEGIANS were left baffled today when the city's most famous statue was given a new look.
The statue of the Duke of Wellington, which stands guard outside the Gallery of Modern Art, is often to be found with a traffic cone on its head
However, on Sunday the iconic monument was seen with a fluffy white unicorn hat atop the Duke's head, replacing the famous orange cone.
In 2011, the Lonely Planet guide included the monument of Arthur Wellesley, 1st Duke of Wellington in its list of the top 10 most bizarre monuments on earth.
Capping the statue with a traffic cone has been a regular event and is believed to date back to the first half of the 1980s.
