A MAN hit a woman on the head with a shoe after he was forced to leave a party in Glasgow.

Stephen Starrs was sentenced at Glasgow Sheriff Court.

The court heard that the 23-year-old was asked to leave a party after he spent more than a day in the flat.

Starrs, of Springcroft Crescent, Baillieston, was making noise when a neighbour asked him to stop due to her concern for children who were playing nearby.

It was then the accused approached the neighbour and hit her on the side if the face with a trainer. Starrs admitted that on April 2 last year at Slatefield Street he assaulted a woman by striking her head with a shoe.

He also admitted that he behaved in a threatening to abusive manner by shouting, swearing, acting in an aggressive manner and uttering threats.

He was given 200 hours unpaid work.
