GLASGOW Sheriff Court or, as it should be called, the comedy club strikes again. (Evening Times June 13)

A prolific bike thief who created havoc was severely punished with 160 hours of unpaid work.

Well that will definitely prevent him from offending again won’t it.

Apology needed

SO Theresa May apologises to Tory MPs and says as she got them into this mess she will get them out of it!

How honourable of her!

What about a huge apology to the British people for her arrogance, cowardice and political incompetence, creating a horrendous mess in her wake.

Words are cheap

READING about the names of the London terror victims appearing on the Squinty Bridge, (Evening Times June 13) graffiti is graffiti.

And all the vigils, silences, candles, flowers, and renderings of ‘Imagine” are doing no good.

Politicians are saying time ad infinitum, “lessons will be learned” “we will not be cowed” “they will not win” “enough is enough (then no elaboration!!).

We would be better having vigils, marches urging politicians to take some serious action (words are cheap), to try and prevent this from happening.

And don’t forget all the arrests after Manchester and London? They have all been released without charge!

So that was worthwhile eh??

Once they are on the radar, how about interning them?

Or are their human rights more important than the names which now vandalise the Squinty Bridge?

Use Crossrail

READING about the planned £1.5m investment for the Barras (Evening Times June 15), and “work to open up the East End and make it more accessible.”

They should use the Crossrail line to help progress this very access by providing a new interchange station with the Argyle Line at Glasgow Cross (where the old station cavern still exists below street level).

This would not only to benefit the local area and ‘wider community’, but also meaningfully connect the disjointed Scotrail services operating south (Paisley-Ayrshire / Inverclyde) and north (Airdrie/Bathgate etc) of the Clyde.
