Well howdy partners and hold onto your cowboy hats because the cast of Nashville are back in Glasgow tonight. Now regular readers of my column will know I'm a huge country music fan so it will come as no surprise that I'm also a major fan of the US tv show Nashville.

If you've never seen this show it's obviously set in Nashville and follows the lives of fictional country music stars and the drama and high jinx that surround them.

There is an abundance of original music in every episode and the fact that the stars are not only great actors but fantastic musicians too just gives the show that extra sparkle, wowing viewers week in, week out. So It came as no surprise when the show announced the cast would be going on tour all over the world which lead to fans of the show snapping up tickets like they were shares in Texas oil.

Now I've talked about this before but the greatest thing about country music isn't actually the music itself, however brilliant it sounds because for me it's 100% the lyrics and titles of these tracks. Allow me to give you some hilarious examples of genuine country songs.

You're The Reason Our Kids Are Ugly - Lorretta Lynn & Conway Twitty

My Wife Ran Off With My Best Friend And I Sure Do Miss Him - Harry Eckert

She's Actin' Single (I'm Drinkin' Doubles) - Gary Stewart

Flushed From The Bathroom Of Your Heart - Johnny Cash

How Can I Miss You If You Won't Go Away - Eldon Hunt

And my all time personal favourite

She Got The Ring And I Got The Finger - Chuck Mead

I mean those song titles just can't be beaten and that for me is the beauty of Country Music. That's why last year, when the Nashville cast were in town, myself and my friends and family were front and centre at The Armadillo in Glasgow to see the show and we weren't disappointed.

It was a fantastic concert and now they’re back to do it all over again tonight at The SSE Hydro. Having performed there myself last month alongside Rod Stewart, Eddi Reader, Susan Boyle and The Bay City Rollers, I know how incredible the venue is and I'm sure it's a night the Nashville performers will never forget.

There is a huge clock backstage at The Hydro with the words “Time to meet the best fans in the world” written on its face and not a truer word could be spoken about a Glasgow and Scottish audience. If you haven't heard the name Callum Beattie yet, trust me you will. He's an incredible young musician from Edinburgh who has been performing since he was 13-years-old and is destined to become one of the biggest selling Scottish artist ever.

I first heard Callum perform during the Edinburgh Festival back in 2014. He was playing on stage right next to my venue in St Andrew Square Gardens and as I was walking by I had to stop dead in my tracks to hear where this incredible voice was coming from.

Since then I've followed his success on social media along with everyone else and I'm so excited to see his career go from strength to strength. He has a new EP out and will be performing at King Tut’s in Glasgow on Sunday so if you want to be blown away by new talent this is the gig for you. Happy Father’s Day to all of the amazing dads out there. I've been utterly blessed my whole life to have the most incredible man I've ever known as my father and I know he will be getting spoiled rotten by his five daughters and grandchildren this weekend. So to all the dads out there, this is your day to sit back, relax and put your feet up and let your kids take care of you. My dad still raves about the amazing mud pie I baked him in my blue bird a la carte kitchen back in 1985 accompanied by a cup of rainwater. Sadly to my dad's dismay my cooking skills haven't improved in the 32 years since. Happy Father’s Day dad, we love you so much xxx
