A WOMAN was robbed by a thug who threatened her before making off with her purse in Glasgow's West End.
The "frightening" attack on the 56-year-old happened on Saturday, June 17 just after midnight at 12.05am.
She was walking along Churchill Drive near to Randolph Road, Broomhill, when she was approached from behind by a man who threatened her and demanded her purse.
The suspect then ran off up the grass verge and on to Randolph Road.
He is described as white, late 20s, 6 ft in height, of slim build and was wearing all black clothing with a ‘snood’ covering his face.
Detective Constable John Fagan, Greater Glasgow Community Investigations Unit, said: “Thankfully the lady was not injured during the robbery, however, it was very frightening for her to experience.
“Although we believe this was an opportunist crime, it’s possible that the man had been hanging about the area prior to the robbery.
“I would ask anyone who may have seen him, even although it was late at night, or who has any information that will assist our enquiries, contact the Community Investigations Unit at Govan Police Station via 101 quoting reference number 0025/17/06.
“Alternatively, please call Crimestoppers in confidence on 0800 555 111.”
