A RANGERS fan has been fined £1350 for his part in the pitch invasion at last year’s Scottish Cup final.
Gavin French, 31, joined a group of fellow Rangers supporters who ran on to the pitch at Hampden Park on May 21, last year.
He ran towards Hibs fans and appeared to “goad them” before pushing a police officer.
French , from Edinburgh, appeared in the dock on Tuesday at Glasgow Sheriff Court to be sentenced for the offence, contrary to the Offensive Behaviour at Football Act.
Sheriff Joseph Platt fined him £1350 and handed him a two-year football banning order.
Procurator fiscal depute Kathleen O’Donnell said: “French joined a large group of Rangers fans who approached Hibs fans on the pitch.
“He was seen with his arms outstretched towards Hibs fans, he appeared to be goading them.”
