SO, armed police are to be permanently based at the Scottish Parliament following a review of security (Evening Times June 17).
So that is the MSPs and staff safeguarded but what about the public?
A random terrorist attack would be more quickly extinguished by permanently arming the police.
The public pay the MSPs salaries so are entitled to equal protection.

'Useless' statue
THE story about a statue depicting Jesus as a homeless person to be erected in Glasgow (Evening Times June 19), that’s all the homeless in Glasgow need another bloody statue!
How about building flats, use containers to do the job, they are cheap look good and are safe and warm.
Even now the SNP want more migrants in to take more houses that should be for own own people.

Statue not unique
WHEN I read the story about the ‘homeless statue’, I thought when I read this story that the bronze was a unique piece of art.
But, having looked at "homeless jesus’’ on wikipedia, it turns out that there are identical bronzes already installed in Manchester, Dublin, Canada and the United States.
The artist seems to want them all over the world.

Waste of money
IT doesn’t matter what the statue is about, it’s just a total waste of money that could be better spent on “anybody” who finds they have to spend a night on a bench.
Foolish project’s like this just go to show that we really don’t care about other people, just our own self gratification if anyone takes the foolish idea up.

Stop speeding
READING about speeding cameras costing more than £5 million (Evening Times June 19), it’s speeding drivers coating £5 million - not the cameras.
They go on about road safety like some sort of moral crusaders.
If it annoys anyone so much about how much money is “made” from cameras, here’s a novel suggestion - don’t speed and then they won’t get a penny from you.
