Glasgow will be going back to prehistoric times this summer with the help of a life-size animatronic dinosaur tour.

The Jurassic Kingdom tour will be coming to Glasgow's Botanic Gardens for the first time ever.

Coming with it will be 30 full scale prehistoric creatures.

Visitors can come face to face with a fearsome T-Rex, watch the Deinonychus and Tenontosaurus do battle or meet the gentle but most definitely giant 16 metre long Diplodocus.

As the first ever national outdoor animatronic dino-tour, there will be snarling jaws, moving eyes and roaring sound effects to make for the complete Jurassic experience.

Visitors will follow a trail around the Botanics as part of a walking tour which lasts around 60 minutes where the giant dinosaurs will be waiting.

The Jurassic Kingdom offers families the opportunity to learn more about the fascinating creatures with an educational marquee and fact-filled worksheet for school kids.

Other activities include an excavation scene where younger children can get hands on and dig to unearth a T-Rex fossil, immersive virtual reality headsets offering a range of digital dinosaur experiences and plenty of photo opportunities for those all-important Spinosaurus selfies.

The dinosaurs cover three key areas including the Jurassic, Triassic and Cretaceous period.

Jurassic Kingdom will be in town from August 26 until September 10 from 10am and 6pm.
