This is the moment former X Factor contestant Christian Burrows was involved in a mass brawl - allegedly sparked over derogatory comments made about his dead baby brother.

The brutal clip shows revellers trading blows before males are dragged to the floor and stamped on - filmed days before the release of Mr Burrows' debut single.

Mr Burrows, 20, claims he was assaulted by people in the early hours of Saturday morning who were taunting him in a takeaway.

He claims the men made derogatory remarks, including one alluding to the death of his three-month-old brother, and retaliated.

His song Two Again, released yesterday, is written in memory of his little brother, Nathan, who died of cot death when Mr Burrows was two-years-old.

He said: "After attempting to de-escalate the situation we decided to leave when their banter quickly turned aggressive with intended derogatory remarks.

"Carry on I'll put you in the ground with your brother".

"At which point everyone got very heated and I felt threatened. Next thing I remember I was assaulted causing a retaliation in defence."

The fight was caught on two separate videos by an onlooker, who does not wish to be named, and posted online.

The first video starts with a group of men, including Mr Burrows, shouting at each other in the doorway of the Food Factory takeaway in Bradshawgate, Greater Manchester.

The X Factor 2016 contestant, from Tonge, can be seen in the fracas as punches are thrown.

Shouting continues through the doorway while a woman's voice can be heard shouting "Christian" and telling them "It's finished".

The next clip picks up the action some moments later and shows two men walking away from the takeaway.

The situation appears to have calmed down but then further violence erupts. A man runs into the brawl, causing one of the men to dash back into the chippy.

In a tweet sent by Mr Burrows just after 11.30pm on the Friday, he thanks The Bar Bolton for "always looking after" him as he and the "lads" celebrate his debut single.

A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said: "We were called at around 4.45am on Saturday, June 17.

"Police were called to reports of a disturbance in Bradshawgate outside a takeaway.

"Officers attended but the group had already dispersed.

"Anyone with information should call police on 101 and quote incident 527 of July 17 or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."

Mr Burrows, a former Bolton barman, performed when he auditioned for judges on the ITV talent show back in August last year.

He went on to hit national headlines for the tear-jerking moment but failed to make the live shows when mentor Nicole Scherzinger failed to pick him for her final line-up.

Since then, he has been on tour with Ben Haenow, recording in London and promoting the single with interviews on national radio stations.

Mr Burrows, who has more than 42,000 followers on Twitter, is a former Thornleigh Salesian College student.
