Passengers on a bus from Glasgow to Cumbernauld had a lucky escape on Thursday night after a group of youths threw rocks at passing vehicles.
The Stagecoach X28 service was travelling along the M80 to Cumbernauld when the driver was forced to swerve to avoid the sudden onslaught of rocks being thrown at the bus and other vehicles on the stretch of motorway.

The windscreen on the bus was smashed and at least two other vehicles travelling in front of the bus were also hit, forcing them to stop on the hard shoulder.
Police were called to the scene.
