READING about speed cameras costing more than £5 million (Evening Times June19), these cameras are just a money grabbing exercise with little or no prevention achieved.

Those who speed knowingly are ignorant, arrogant and self centred idiots who only care about themselves, that is until they end up involved in a road crash at their own hands.

What part of the message: “speed kills” do they not get?

Crossrail ideal

I AGREE 100% with Andrew Stephen on his comments about Glasgow Crossrail. (Evening Times June 16) This has to be a no-brainer.

It would be well used and would fit perfectly with regeneration.

It would appear that either not enough people are campaigning for it, or the powers that be are simply not listening.

Tory message

THIS is a message to Ruth Davidson; how do you sleep at night with children going to school hungry, (Tory MPs filling their pockets) and young people sleeping in shop doorsteps?

There will come a time when these people who voted Tory just to keep the SNP out will realize that you cannot trust a Tory.

Remember Maggie Thatcher.

Indy obsessed

READING about the likelihood of an imminent discussion about a second independence referendum (Evening Times June 20), so in Scotland there are food banks, education standards are falling, the NHS is in crisis, the oil industry is near collapse, and Govanhill is in crisis.

And all that the First Minister of Scotland is focused on is independence.

Govanhill ignored

PRIOR to Nicola Sturgeon “winning” Govanhill she asked via her Evening Times newspaper column, “anyone who wants to speak to me about issues in Govanhill, or elsewhere, should email me at nicola.sturgeon@snp.org.”

She was emailed, she ignored mine, and no doubt others.

She said: “Govanhill has well documented challenges and my job as the local MSP is to solve those challenges”.

As usual, no change.

Her constituents cornered her and demanded answers and action - Ms Sturgeon retreated and escaped into her car without comment.
