POLICE are investigating claims that a man was racially abused and threatened with assault in Glasgow’s South Side.
Ray Ramjan, who lives in Newlands, claims that he was targeted at the junction between Battlefield Road and Sinclair Drive by a man who told him to get his, “f****** black c*** head out of the way.”
He further claims that the man then told him to, “get out of his country and don’t come back," and threatened to hit him with his belt.
The incident is alleged to have happened on June 18 while Mr Ramjan was walking home.
Mr Ramjan shared details of the incident on social media and said: “I have lived in this country since 1969, this one of the worst.
“Very sad day. Glad I can afford to go and live aboard for six months of the year.”
A spokeswoman for Police Scotland said: “We can confirm that an inquiry is underway following a complaint of racist abuse in Battlefield Road on June 18.”
