Virgin Atlantic Airways are running extra flights between Glasgow Airport and Orlando, Florida this summer.

Running until November, flights from Glasgow to Florida will increase to four flights per week, with flights operating every Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

The increase in capacity is in response to strong and growing customer demand for the route up to 30,000 passengers travelling between Glasgow and Orlando a month.

Richard Myerscough, Virgin Atlantic senior vice president of sales and distribution, said: “We’ve always received a warm welcome in Glasgow and I’m delighted that we’re able to mark our 10th anniversary flying from the city with even more direct flights to Orlando.

“Our joint venture with Delta has allowed us to give our Scottish customers more routes to the US destinations they want to fly to, creating more holiday and business opportunities than ever before."
