POLICE have sealed off a street in Crookston after a suspected hit and run.
A 23-year-old man was knocked down by a car, thought to be a black hackney cab, during the early hours of Sunday morning.
Residents in Dalmellington Road phoned the emergency services after the suspect made off after the incident.
The injured man was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital just after midnight with serious head injuries.
Officers have confirmed that investigations are under way.
A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "At around 12.10am on Sunday, June 25 a 23-year-old man sustained serious head injuries after he was struck by a black vehicle deliberately driven at him on Dalmellington Road in Crookston.
"The vehicle, possibly a black hackney taxi but this is still to be confirmed, made off after the incident.
"The injured man was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where he was treated for serious head injuries.
"Medical staff describe his condition as critical.
"Enquiries are continuing."
