A pensioner was punched on the head and attacked in front of horrified shoppers on a busy high street.
The Evening Times understands that the 68-year-old man was standing on Gilmour Street when a thug punched him on the head.
It is understood that he was knocked unconscious following the attack which happened on Monday, June 26 at around 3.20pm.
Video footage of the aftermath appeared on social media, and Police Scotland confirmed they are investigating the assault.
The man was left with a head wound and was rushed by ambulance to hospital.
A Police Scotland spokesman said: "Around 3.20pm on Monday, June 26 2017, police were called to a report of a man having been assaulted in Gilmour Street, Paisley.
"Emergency services attended and a 68-year-old man was taken to the Royal Alexandra Hospital for treatment to a head injury.
"Enquiries are continuing."
