A DRUNK man hurled racist abuse at a neighbour before trying to break down her close door.
George Mackay has been staying with his sister at a flat on Ardencraig Road when he returned home drunk and having forgotten his keys.
Glasgow Sheriff Court heard he buzzed a neighbour's door but she refused to let him in.
In response, Mackaybegan kicking the close door, smashing glass panes.
The 37-year-old left the scene twice, on September 10, 2016, before returning each time to continue shouting abuse and kicking the door.
At one point, Mackay, from Castlemilk, shouted a racist slur at the woman and her daughter.
His defence lawyer said: "He clearly regrets making the comment, he's not somebody who's racist by nature. What had happened was he was staying within that close, he had returned home and realised he didn't have keys to his sister's house.
"He tried to get in by pressing the buzzer and she ought to have let him in."
Sheriff Barry Divers said Mackay had shown "disgraceful behaviour" and sentenced him to wear a tag for six months that will keep him at home between 8pm and 7am.
