FORMER Glasgow North East Councillor and Depute Lord Provost, Gerry Leonard, has passed away, according to reports.
Glasgow Labour Leader Frank McAveety said on Twitter: "Tnt we lost a tremendous servant of Glasgow Labour in our colleague Gerry Leonard. A fine councillor and trade unionist. We will miss him."
Malcolm Cunning, Labour Councillor for Linn Ward also tweeted: "So sad to hear of the untimely death of Gerry Leonard, former Deputy Lord Provost of our great city and a doubty champion of his community."
Southside Central Councillor, Dr Soryia B Siddique, tweeted: "Sad news, will remember Gerry Leonard as a great Deputy Lord Provost, community champion and a warm witty personality. RIP Gerry Leonard."
