A South Lanarkshire woman couldn’t believe her luck last night when she bumped into none other than Kiefer Sutherland - in a Chinese restaurant up Sauchiehall Street.

Mona Keeling, from Hamilton, was tucking into a meal with her two pals, Alison and Ayse, before hitting the O2 ABC to see the actor and singer perform as part of his UK and Europe-wide tour.

Speaking with the Evening Times, an ecstatic Mona described how the trio had originally intended to head to the Kama Sutra Indian restaurant but, seeing it was closed, decided to head to Sichuan House - and she’s glad she did.

Glasgow Times:

The 40-year-old said: “We were aware a group of people had walked in and sat down. My friend noticed him first, but didn’t say anything, waiting for us to turn around and get a surprise.

“When we did, I just couldn’t believe it. I’ve been a huge Kiefer fan ever since I was 12, ever since The Lost Boys.

“We played it cool; he went out for a cigarette and when he came in and passed us by, we asked him for a picture. He was so lovely. Quietly spoken, but maybe he was just saving his voice for the show.

“We all got a hug and a kiss. He said, ‘Right, ladies. I’ll make sure I sing my ass off for you tonight’.

“He dropped his scarf on the way out, so I picked it up and gave it to the two ladies he was with. My friends said I was crazy not to just keep it!”

Mona added how the show was “absolutely brilliant.”

The Evening Times reported yesterday how the Emmy and Golden Globe-winning actor and singer had also been seen strolling up Sauchiehall Street prior to the gig.

Best-known for his roles in The Lost Boys, Flatliners and most notably, the TV series, 24, Kiefer has recently shifted his focus to music having released his debut album, Down In A Hole, in August last year.
