A MAN was tagged at Glasgow Sheriff Court after he threw a bottle at a party-goer enjoying Christmas festivities.

The court heard that Calum Young was with a group of his friends at Bunker in Bath Street during the festive period when the incident occurred.

The 26-year-old went over to another group within the premises and started to place his hand on the face of one member of the group. He also ruffled the hair of another man and made comments about his hair.

He was then asked to go away by the group.

Then as he and his friends were leaving he threw a bottle at the complainer which cut him to the face.

Young admitted that on December 23 last year in Bunker on Douglas Street he assaulted a man by throwing a bottle at him which struck him and cut his face. He also admitted that on the same day on Douglas Street he behaved in a threatening and abusive manner by shouting and swearing.

Young’s defending solicitor described his client’s behaviour as “over-familiar drunken behaviour”.

The solicitor had also reviewed the CCTV footage of the incident which saw Young of Methven Road, Paisley, under arm throwing the bottle.

The sentencing sheriff tagged Young and set a review to check up on his behaviour.
