A popular West End pub has won a legion of new fans after taking the mick out of what we all dread at this time of year: overpriced graduation menus.

The Sparkle Horse in Dowanhill Street posted a brilliant “graduation specials” menu on its Facebook page, red ink and all.

It shows the restaurant’s much sought-after £5/£6/£7 specials menu - but the cheap deals have been scored out, instead, filled in with ridiculously overly-inflated prices.

Glasgow Times:

Our personal favourite is the rare steak bavette served with hand-cut chips. Usually a pretty darn good £7, the eatery is saying it will now be £18.50 for new uni grads and their loved-ones.

At the bottom is scribbled: “Includes small glass of undisclosed fizzy wine.”

The caption accompanying the post reads: “Graduating today? Why not take advantage of our cynically-priced ‘Graduation Specials’.*

“*£5/6/7 menu also available.”

In one word? Priceless.
