A GANG of masked men burst into a home with a gun forcing the occupants to flee in terror.

The frightening late-night attack happened at around 11.45pm on Tuesday in a quiet plush estate in Robroyston.

Glasgow Times:

Police are now hunting for the masked gang of three or four men who carried out their hit on the house in Pinwherry Drive.

They forced their way in before they threatened the occupants, two women, aged 47 and 19 years, and a 26 year old man, with what is believed to be a firearm and then ransacked the house.

Glasgow Times:

The gang of men, all wearing dark clothing and balaclavas, then made their getaway in a dark coloured Audi.

Glasgow Times:

Cops also believed that a second car, possibly another Audi, was also outside the house with a further three men on board.

That gang, however, did not go to the house.   The house is the first property of the cul-de-sac which runs along the main road of Auchinleck Avenue.

Glasgow Times:

Both vehicles drove off along Pinwherry Drive possibly towards Auchinleck Avenue and on to Saughs Avenue after the incident.

Two of the suspects who went to the house are described as both skinny, one around 6 ft and the other 5 ft 6 inches in height.

Police have yet to establish a motive for the attack and have not said whether it was targeted.

Officers sitting in a marked police vehicle stood guard at a cordon at the property this morning while detectives spoke to neighbours in a bid to trace witnesses.

A car parked in the driveway, above, appeared to have its windows smashed.

Glasgow Times:

Detective Inspector Greig Wilkie said: “Thankfully no one was injured during this raid on the house and that the occupants were able to run from the house as the men ransacked their home. However, it was a very frightening and distressing experience to all those involved.

“A motive as to why the men went to that particular house and turned it upside down is still to be established.  But whatever the reason, we are determined to find out who these people are.  “Officers are carrying out door to door enquiries as well as checking CCTV from the area in an effort to identify those responsible.

Glasgow Times:

“The Audi cars, which haven’t been recovered at this time, may have been in the area prior to the incident and I have no doubt people would have, with regard to the waiting car, seen or heard it outside the house.
