A FORMER head teacher who is taking a parent to court over an alleged decade-long campaign of harassment claims he had “an obsessive quest to ruin her life”.

Geraldine McWilliams, 65, alleges Richard Russell has been harassing her since 2006, when she reported concerns about his kids to social work.

The pensioner was head teacher at Saint Monica’s Primary School in Pollok at the time.

Glasgow Sheriff Court granted an interim interdict in a bid to stop him contacting her but she told yesterday how Russell continued to harass and intimidate her.

She described being advised by police not to stay at home after receiving a letter from Russell which was believed to be a “viable threat”.

After all evidence is heard at the civil case, sheriff Aisha Anwar will rule if an interdict with the power of arrest will be granted.

This will prevent Mr Russell approaching or contacting Mrs McWilliams.

The retired head teacher gave evidence that she made social work referrals when she was in charge of St Monica’s, about Mr Russell’s children “in line with school policy”.

She claimed Mr Russell then made a number of allegations that were later unfounded, and caused disturbances at the school.

It was heard that a Glasgow City Council lawyer wrote to Mr Russell asking him to stop his behaviour.

She was shown a letter she claimed Mr Russell sent, denying his behaviour and demanding for her resignation and for her to pay him money. Asked how she felt at that time, she said: “It made me feel ill that someone could have such a warped view of things.”

She added: “He knew that his behaviour was inappropriate.

Mrs McWilliams applied through a solicitor for an interim interdict which was granted in 2006.
