A POPULAR Glasgow venue is to receive a makeover during the summer.

Hutchesons in the Merchant City will relaunch following refurbishments which will take place over a two week period in mid-July.

The work will be complete in time for the launch of the Merchant City Festival on Friday, July 21.

The owners say fans of the venue can expect a number of events and parties to coincide with the re-launch.

The venue's operators RUSK & RUSK also say the restaurant will remain open during the refurbishment.

Hutchesons was redeveloped into a glamorous bar and restaurant by owners James and Louise Rusk in 2014.

James Rush said:  “For us, it’s about making sure we never rest on our laurels.
"Hutchesons has been a massive hit in its formative years, and in order for us to continue that success, we need to make sure we are constantly evolving with the times and we see now as the perfect opportunity to
create a new-look Hutchesons."

RUSK & RUSK also own the city's The Spanish Butcher and The Butchershop.
