THE body of a man has been discovered in the woods in Drumchapel.
Detectives launched an investigation after the man was found dead in Bluebell woods on Saturday at 8.20pm.
A post-mortem examination will take place in due course and the death is being treated as unexplained.
Residents say that there was a large police and ambulance presence in the area overnight.
A Police Scotland spokeswoman told The Evening Times: "At 8.20pm on Saturday evening, police were called to the report of a body of a 53-year-old man having been discovered in Bluebell woods in Drumchapel.
"A post-mortem examination is being carried out in due course to establish the exact cause of the death which officers are treating as unexplained at this time.
"A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal."
